The Intervertebral Foramina in Man
By Harold Swanberg
Scan of book on CD-ROM in PDF format, published in 1915 with 95 pages.
The morphology of the intervertebral foramina in man including a description of their contents and adjacent parts with special reference to the nervous structures.

Dr. HAROLD SWANBERG has enlarged the scope of his contribution to anatomic knowledge by lnIrsuing his investigation to its logical conclusion. His former work, to which I wrote a prefatory note, was done upon the intervertebral foramina of lower animals. That work is fully corroborated and greatly enhanced by the present monograph, which presents an equally careful study of the human intervertebral foramina. In the light of thic new knowledge, certain theories of spinal tension and compression must be greatly modifled.

The Intervertebral Foramen:
An atlas and histological description of an intervertebral foramen and its adjacent parts.
By Harold Swanberg. Published 1914. Scan of book on CD-ROM in PDF format with 95 pages.

PREFACE
This atlas is absolutely unique. To the best of the authorís knowledge it contains the first photomicrographs and scientific description of an intervertebral foramen that has ever been published. No apology is therefore offered for its appearance. During the past quarter of a century a great deal of attention has been directed to the spinal column from a therapeutical standpoint. Many systems have arisen claiming that the great majority of diseases have their origin from various spinal abnormalities, which result in producing pressure, or other phenomena, to the nerves in the intervertebral foramina.

The purpose of this book is to present an accurate and scientific description of an intervertebral foramen and its adjacent parts, with special reference to the relations of the nervous structures. The animal chosen to furnish the necessary specimen was the cat.
